A small script that takes a manage.py dumpdata generated json file, and removes fields of the specified models. I needed this because i kept my initial data on a json file and after I removed a field on one of my models, the script wouldn't work anymore.
Perhaps this is blindingly obvious but I spent a while trying to get this, before figuring out that when a each item of an iterated ValuesQuerySet is a dict. Useful for serialising to JSON or XML etc.

Just a dump of a countries data, including standard codes & dial-codes, based on the following model: - Country -- name : CharField -- code : CharField -- dial_code : CharField Note that countries aren't unique, as some may have several intl. dial codes. You can parse it using script or load it using the loaddata command.
I often need to dump data from a database to csv. This little snippet should make it easy enough to do without having to worry too much about character encodings, though it does assume you want your csv file to be utf-8 encoded. Note that this dumps just one table from the database. Trying to dump all the tables in your app will raise an exception.
If you have JSON objects with `datetime` attributes that you want to decode to python [datetime](http://docs.python.org/library/datetime.html#datetime.datetime) objects, you can use `decode_datetime` as a [simplejson](http://simplejson.googlecode.com/svn/tags/simplejson-2.0.9/docs/index.html) object hook. `simplejson.loads(s, object_hook=decode_datetime)`.
If you want to do your own JSON serialization of [datetime](http://docs.python.org/library/datetime.html#datetime.datetime) objects instead of using DjangoJSONEncoder, use `simplejson.dumps(o, default=encode_datetime)`. The `encode_datetime` method will convert the datetime object to UTC and output an ISO format string just like the [isoutc template filter](http://www.djangosnippets.org/snippets/1424/).
This is a skeleton framework of a unittest for an app which will write out a fixture of the test database once the test has been done. I run this once for all apps, but you can limit which apps get serialized by modifying the self.apps value from get_apps (all apps) to a list of only certain apps. This script by default assumes that you have a SVN_DIR setting which points to the current working subversion directory, with a subdirectory of fixtures where it places `tests.json` upon completion. You may change this location as well. After running `python manage test` you can run `python manage loaddata fixtures/tests.json` to load in to the real database all of the test database fixtures. Feel free to edit at will, let me know of any changes that are helpful, and dont forget to fill in the `...`s
add JSONRequestMiddleware to your enabled middleware in Django settings. Now, in your view functions, you can call request.json() to get a parsed json body! json is consumed lazily, and cached.

Takes a tweet url, requests the json from Twitter oEmbed, parses the json for the html element and returns it to your template. The html returned is ready to go and will be shown as a tweet on your web page. This uses the Requests library for Python. Based on http://www.djangosnippets.org/snippets/592/, a simplified recurse template tag that will explore dict and list objects. Useful and straightforward for JSON documents (for instance from couchdb :p). Actual usage example: {% recursedict mydictionary %} <ul> {% loop %} <li>{% if key %}<b>{{ key }}</b>: {% endif %}{% value %}</li> {% endloop %} </ul> {% endrecurse %} The main tag syntax is "recursedict var" where var is your dictionary name. The "key" property will contain the current key, or None if the current value comes from a list (in other words the list (a, b, c) is handled like a very hypothetical {None: a, None: b, None: c} dictionary.) {% value %} will output the current value, or recurse if the value is a list, tuple or dict.
