This templatetag let's you output a form with select boxes instead of the ul's for filters. Uses some hacks to get the param names out of query strings. This would be a lot easier if filterspecs defined params instead of query strings (if filter tag would handle the encoding)
Sometimes you have an uncontrolled amount of text in a horizontally constrained space. The wrappable filter places zero-width breaking spaces into the given text so that it can wrap at any point, as necessary for the containing width. Sometimes better than eliding (chopping long text...) or cropping/scrolling overflow.

If you have a model with foreign key to User, you can use this manager to show (i.e. in admin interface) only objects, that are related to currently logged-in user. Sometimes you need to filter foreignkey choices in admin interface, to objects created by user or meeting some other condition. In django 1.0 there is no formfield_for_foreignkey method in ModelAdmin class so we have to make a workaround. Here is the solution I have found to be the easiest for me.
This is a custom template filter that allows you to truncate a string to a maximum of num characters, but respecting word boundaries. So, for example, if `string = "This is a test string."`, then `{{ string|truncatechars:12 }}` would give you "This is a..." instead of "This is a te".
A simple template filter for breaking a list into sublists of a given length, you might use this on an ecommerce product grid where you want an arbitrary number of rows of fixed columns. Unlike the other partitioning filters I've seen, this doesn't try to distribute the rows evenly, instead it fills each row for moving onto the next. This filter preserves the ordering of the input list.

Renders a view to an email. You need to set all of the required settings for email support.
Put it in appname/templatetags/truncatehtml.py and load it with {% load truncatehtml %}, then for instance {{ some_story|truncatehtml:100 }} to truncate the story to 100 characters. Tags are not counted in the length given, and character entities count as one character. The filter should never break an open-tag text close-tag sequence without adding in the close tag. It will also preserve character entities. It won't sanitize the HTML, though: garbage in, garbage out. An email address obfuscation template filter based on the ROT13 Encryption function in Textmate's HTML bundle. The filter should be applied to a string representing an email address. You can optionally pass the filter an argument that will be used as the email link text (otherwise it will simply use the email address itself). Example usage: {{ email_address|obfuscate:"Contact me!" }} or {{ email_address|obfuscate }} Of course, you can also use this on hardcoded email addresses, like this: {{ "[email protected]"|obfuscate }}
